Dear you, dear you without a clue.
I wonder what you plan to do.
I swear I’ve wished I’d been mistaken,
For “truth” would mean that you’d been faking.
I’ve seen the world shake through your eyes.
An unavoidable demise will surely come, but wont surprise.
Not you, nor I.
Dear me, dear me…
Why must it be so easy and so clear to see?
When desperation starts to mellow,
All that remains are the smiles of fellows.
But hollow smiles drain what’s inside
For shifting eyes see all you hide
No one’s shedding a tear, not a single cry
Not for you, nor I.
My Maker stopped and asked of me, “Did you do all I expect of thee?”
As his gaze intensified and grew much deeper,
I said, “I don’t know, was I to be his keeper?”
He said, “Your hands were stained as you watched him lie,
Now crimson cries carry through my skies.
There were things you could do, that we can’t deny”
Not you, nor I.
